Linglong Américas, a subsidiary of Chinese tire manufacturer Shandong Linglong Tire, began operating in Brazil in 2021, supplying components, still imported, to automakers. The company aims to be one of the five largest tire manufacturers in the world.
Anderson Valverde, the company's OEM sales director for Latin America, spoke about the plans for the region, “Our intention is for one of the five factories outside of China to be built in Brazil, to meet the local market and other demands of the region for light and heavy vehicles.”
Later this year, Linglong's global CEO, Feng Wang, will come to Brazil, accompanied by other executives and a technical team, to get to know the country better, study possible regions and strategic partners for the business.
