Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Li Jinzhang has said Chinese investment has helped Brazil improve its infrastructure, increase its industrialisation and advance into the digital age, the Global Times reports.
Mr Li said Chinese accounted for only 3 percent of purchases of land in Brazil by foreigners.
He said many Brazilian companies actively sought co-operation with Chinese companies.
“We could gradually increase imports of agricultural products from Brazil to ensure domestic supplies, stable markets and food safety,” Mr Li said.
“China also has booming demand for cotton, cooking oil, sugar and dairy products, all of which are major products of Brazil,” the Global Times quotes the ambassador as saying.
