China Railway 20th Bureau Group Corp. has begun building a middle school in the central Angolan city of Kuito, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency says the school will occupy a site of 1,770 square metres in Kuito.
The report quotes Zhu Qihui, an executive of the contractor, as saying when the cornerstone was laid: “We will guarantee the efficiency and quality of the construction, and offer a good learning environment to all the students, as soon as possible.”
The school is due to be completed next year.
The project shows how committed the Angolan authorities are to improving infrastructure and living conditions, Xinhua quotes Governor Pereira Alfredo of the province of Bié as saying.
