The Brazilian Wine Institute says China was the fifth-biggest buyer of Brazilian wine and sparkling wine exports last year, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes an official of the institute as saying China will be among the markets Brazilian wine exporters will be concentrating on this year, along with the United States, the United Kingdom and Paraguay.
The official said China held “unlimited opportunities” for Brazilian wine exporters.
The report says the institute will join four international fairs to showcase Brazilian wine in China this year.
The six main Brazilian wine labels have sold well in China, and starting this year the institute is aiming to increase sales there of Brazilian sparkling wines and grape juice, Xinhua says.
