Officials of Angola, Timor Leste and São Tomé e Príncipe will attend the 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum in Macao this week, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says the two-day conference will open on Thursday.

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the China International Contractors Association are jointly putting on the conference, with the help of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and the Macao SAR Government, the report says.

In another report, Jornal do Cidadão says seven ministerial-level representatives of Portuguese-speaking countries and 17 officials of countries covered by the Chinese Belt and Road initiative will attend the conference.

The conference may increase exchanges between China, including Macao, and the lusophone world, the Macao newspaper quotes IPIM Executive Director Sam Lei as saying.

Separately, IPIM issued a written statement saying hundreds of representatives of various bodies in over 70 different parts of the world will attend the conference.
