The latest weekly survey of economists by the Brazilian central bank found that they now expect the Brazilian economy to grow by 2.87 percent this year, having previously forecast that it would expand by 2.9 percent, Agência Brasil reports.
The news agency says the survey found that economists expect the economy to grow by 3 percent next year, the same as before.
The survey found economists forecast that the annual rate of consumer price inflation will be 3.67 percent this year and 4.2 percent next year.
They expect the main interest rate to be 6.5 percent at the end of this year and that it will rise to 8 percent next year, Agência Brasil says.
