BMI Research now forecasts that the annual rate of growth in gross domestic product in Mozambique will accelerate to 3.6 percent this year and next from 3.3 percent last year, Lusa reports.
The Portuguese news agency says the consulting firm previously forecast growth of 4.6 percent this year.
The report quotes BMI Research as saying: “The Mozambican economy has already passed the worst phase of the slowdown.”
Before the recent slowdown, GDP grew at an average annual rate of 7 percent between 2000 and 2015, Lusa says.
