One-third of Angolans connected to Internet by Huawei

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd of China is the internet service provider of one-third of the people of Angola, the China Daily reports.

The Chinese newspaper says Huawei has created more than 500 job openings for Angolans and trained about 1,000 Angolan engineers employed by Angolan enterprises since the company entered the Angolan market in 1998.

The report says Huawei offers technical support for e-government programmes and education websites in Angola.

Huawei co-operates with Angola Telecom and Unitel in efforts to improve telecommunications in the country.

And Huawei smartphones have been the best-selling smartphones in Angola for the past three years, the China Daily quotes market researcher GFK as saying.
