Brazilian businesses planning to invest in Angola can benefit from Brazil’s Export Financing Programme (Proex) starting from 2015, said the president of the Brazil-Angola Chamber of Commerce, Simão Grilo dos Santos.

Mr Grilo dos Santos, quoted by local media, said Proex would have its funding increased in 2015 to support trade with Angola.

A number of Brazilian businesses have shown interest in entering the Angolan market, he said, adding that agriculture and construction were the areas of greatest interest to Brazilian investors.

Mr Grilo dos Santos however noted that for Proex funding to become fully available, there is the need to put in place procedures to regulate the agreement signed between the President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos, and his Brazilian counterpart, Dilma Rousseff, aiming to mutually extend to two years the maximum length of business visas.

Mr Grilo dos Santos said business delegations from both countries would meet in July 2015 in Luanda, to discuss new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
