China Road and Bridge Corp. (CRBC) has begun laying the deck of the Maputo- Catembe bridge in Mozambique, AIM reports.
The Mozambican news agency quotes Mozambican Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources Carlos Bonete as saying he expects the builder to finish laying the last of the 57 125-tonne modules of the deck in about one and a half months.
The report quotes CBRC executive Bai Pengyu as saying the bridge will be completed this year.
The estimated cost of the 600-metre, four-lane road bridge is US$725 million, AIM says.
