China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. will build a solid-waste recycling plant in Luanda, worth US$195 million, the Lusa news agency reported.
The Angola Ministry of Environment announced a memorandum was signed on Tuesday. The arrangement will also see China Harbour Engineering construct landfills within a strategic plan for waste management.
The agreement also provides for power generation, with the construction and equipment to be provided by the Chinese firm.
Angola hopes to build landfills in each of its 18 provincial capitals by 2020.
