Portugal’s Orivárzea wants to sell rice to Mainland China as soon as a protocol on trade co-operation is signed, the Portuguese news agency Lusa reports.
Orivárzea exports to Macao and Hong Kong, and the signing of the trade protocol would allow it to pay lower custom tariffs.
Orivárzea commercial director Jorge Parreira was quoted saying the company would offer high-quality products that met food safety standards.
Mr Parreira was speaking at the Portugal-China Economic Forum, a trade fair that took place in Lisbon.
