The seminar “Internet of Things: Towards a New Reality between Humans and Machines”, organized by the Brazil-China Business Council in partnership with the Chinese Embassy in Brazil, was held on the 27th of July.
The event has the participation of the director of the Digital Economy and Financial Innovation Research Center at Zhejiang University’s International Business School as well as the representatives of companies such as Huawei, Xiaomi, and the Brazilian telecommunications operators Vivo and TIM.
Chinese and Brazilian experts discussed the prospects of the Internet of Things (IoT), the technology that allows device connectivity and that will become more prevalent with the development of 5G, and the potential for cooperation between the two countries in this area.
Currently, China is one of the main players in promoting IoT at international level and is expected to overtake the United States to become the world’s largest IoT market in 2024, according to a report released by the International Data Corporation.
