Trade between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries hit US$36.83 billion in the first four months of 2013, down by 5.81 percent from a year earlier, according to data from the Chinese General Administration of Customs.

Chinese imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries were down 11.05 percent year-on-year in the first four months of the year, reaching US$24.38 billion. China sold goods and services to Portuguese-speaking Countries worth US$12.44 billion during the period, up by 6.48 percent from a year earlier.

Total trade value for the month of April reached US$10.55 billion, up by 18.09 percent from the previous month.

The value of China’s imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries grew by 16.87 percent month-on-month to US$7.21 billion in April, while exports to those countries reached US$3.33 billion, up by 20.82 percent from the previous month.
