Revenue at the customs service of Guinea-Bissau is expected to hit 38 billion CFA francs (US$65 million) in 2015, said its director-general for customs, Francisco Rosa Cá.

Online media outlet Macauhub reported that revenue in the January to August period reached 30 billion CFA francs, already exceeding the 27 billion CFA francs collected for full-year 2014.

The official was quoted saying recent political changes had no impact on revenue. The latter reached 3 billion CFA francs in August, compared with 2 billion CFA francs in the prior-year period.

President José Mário Vaz dissolved last month the Government headed by former Prime Minister Domingos Simões Pereira. It was reported the move was due to political differences. Baciro Djá has been named as the new Prime Minister.
