The director of the laboratory of applied neurosciences at the University of São José (USJ), in Macao, Alexandre Lobo, was speaking on the sidelines of the centre’s inauguration ceremony. The USJ signed an agreement for the creation of a joint laboratory of applied neurosciences at the Universidade Católica do Porto in Portugal.

The memorandum of understanding provides for the creation at Católica do Porto of “a sister laboratory,” and the USJ will transfer knowledge and technology developed by researchers in Macao to the future laboratory at Católica do Porto.

The two universities are still thinking about creating a postgraduate course in Neuromarketing, “an area that still doesn’t have many open academic courses but that has created a lot of interest,” said Alexandre Lobo.
