Trade in merchandise between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$60965 billion in the period from January to April 2023. It represented a 25.99 percent increase year-on-year, according to data from China Customs. Portuguese-speaking Countries sold goods worth US$37.696 billion to China in the first four months of 2023 – an increase of 22.24 percent year-on-year. The value of China’s merchandise exports to those countries reached US$23.269 billion in the same period, up 32.58 percent year-on-year.
The total value of merchandise traded in April between the parties topped US$15.420 billion, an decrease of 16.66 percent from the prior-year period.The value of China’s merchandise imports from Portuguese-speaking Countries reached US$9.264 billion, down 30.35 percent year-to-year, according to Chinese official data. China sold goods to those countries worth US$6.156 billion in March, an increase of 18.34 percent compared with the previous year.
