Brazil imported 5 GW in solar panels from China in the first quarter of 2023 and followed as the largest market in the American continent, shows a survey by InfoLink Consulting. In March alone, an volume of import of photovoltaic equipment was 2 GW, being surpassed in the world only by the Netherlands, the logistical and port center of Europe.
The Brazilian imports accounted for most of the deliveries for all of America, which totaled 7.6 GW in the quarter and 3.1 GW in March. According to the study, other countries on the continent that showed growth in the purchase of photovoltaic modules were Colombia and Chile.
InfoLink indicates that China exported 21.2 GW in solar panels in March 2023, a growth of 43.1% over February and 56.5% compared to March last year. The performance was still higher than the best monthly result of 2022, demonstrating the strong international market demand for solar power.
