123 arbitrators, lawyers and law students from mainland China, Macao, Hong Kong, Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Norway, the Netherlands, Mozambique, Portugal and the United Kingdom attended the seminar on issues of Maritime Arbitration in Lusophony and Maritime Silk Road.
Organized by Associação Lusófona de Arbitragem e Mediação and Concórdia, and with the collaboration of the Macau Academy of Alternative Dispute Resolution of the University of Saint Joseph and CIETAK Hong Kong, the seminar was moderated by David Fong (Hong Kong) and had as speakers the arbitrators Cátia Fernandes (Portugal), José Gabriel Assis de Almeida (Brazil) and António Pedro Pinto Monteiro (Portugal).
“With this seminar, ALAM intended to reinforce knowledge about maritime arbitration in Portuguese-speaking countries and its relationship with the Maritime Silk Road among lawyers, arbitrators and jurists from Macao, Mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries”, reads the communiqué.
