The world’s largest submarine cable system, 2África, will land on the sea coast of Cacuaco in Luanda, Angola, on the 30th of July, whose service will be operated by mobile operator Unitel.
The 2África Consortium has eight international partners, namely China Mobile International, Meta (Facebook), MTN Global Connect, Orange, center 3 (stc), Telecom Egypt, Vodafone/Vodacom and WIOCC.
Unitel is the only Angolan operator to have joined the consortium and is responsible for creating the conditions for the operations of the 2África cable connection to Angola. Through its national fiber network, the operator will be able to provide access to 2África to national telecommunications operators and operators from neighboring countries, such as Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Namibia.
