Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday highlighted the role of economic reforms in China’s overall development. Mr Xi said that reform is key to boosting such progress and that China should maintain its “strategic focus”.
“Our understanding and practice of the ‘new normal’ has just begun,” said Mr Xi, quoted by official Chinese news agency Xinhua. He stated it was necessary to adapt to the new environment via safer and higher-quality growth.
Mr Xi also noted that China must unleash economic potential through more reforms.
“As long as we can make the most of talented people and give full play to innovation, China’s development will have a promising future and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will happen soon,” Mr Xi was quoted saying.
