The Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Li Chunhua, has called for more Chinese investment in the African country’s southern province of Gaza.
Mr Li visited the province over the weekend and met with Governor Stella da Graça Pinto Zeca, the Chinese Embassy said in a statement.
“China is willing to strengthen co-operation with Gaza province, encouraging more Chinese enterprises to invest in the region,” said Mr Li, highlighting agriculture as a major industry in the southern province.
The Ambassador hailed the investment made by Chinese company Wanbao on an agricultural project in Gaza as “a example of agricultural co-operation between China and Africa”.
Ms Zeca was quoted in the Chinese Embassy’s statement saying the Gaza administration would provide assistance to Chinese firms willing to invest in the region.
