The Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Angola published on Monday a set of guidelines urging Chinese firms investing in the African country to boost their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
The document, named ‘Luanda Initiative’, highlighted eight areas meriting special attention by companies. Those included, among other, environment conservation, social welfare and labour rights.
The Luanda Initiative aims to “help Chinese enterprises in Angola to fulfil their social responsibility” and “actively deepen economic and trade cooperation between China and Angola,” the document said.
The Luanda Initiative is available on the website of the Chinese Embassy in Angola.
