Cabo Verde's presence at the Macao International Fair (MIF) continues to bear fruit, attracting investment and growing interest from Greater Bay Area businesspeople in the archipelago's products, from wines and coffee to shellfish and canned goods.

Isabel Duarte, export promotion officer at Cabo Verde TradeInvest, stressed during the event, held from 21 to 24 October, that regular participation in the MIF has secured tangible deals and opened doors to new products in the Macao and Hong Kong markets.

The Cabo Verde TradeInvest representative also highlighted the importance of bilateral trade flows for diversifying business. She explained that Cabo Verde imports construction materials, clothing and footwear from China, while the archipelago already exports sea cucumbers to Hong Kong, with some interest now emerging in also exporting live lobsters and crabs to that market. She also pointed to demand for products such as coffee from the island of Fogo, wine, sugarcane spirit (grogue) and vodka produced in territory of Cabo Verde.

With this participation, Cabo Verde TradeInvest reaffirmed the archipelago's commitment to diversifying trade partnerships and strengthening economic ties with partners in the Macao SAR and the Chinese market.
