A delegation of Mozambican businesspeople, led by Lucas Chachine, President of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM), took part in the 31st Macao International Trade & Investment Fair (MIF), held from 21 to 24 October.
The mission sought to establish partnerships to set up industries in Mozambique, promote the exchange of experience, and develop joint business training and technology transfer initiatives. The delegation included businesspeople from agricultural processing, services, transport, logistics and technology.
According to Lucas Chachine, Macao’s experience could help develop tourism, agriculture and industry, bring young people into production chains and create jobs. He said that taking part in the fair was an opportunity to diversify Mozambique’s economy.
As part of the mission, the CCM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) of the Macao SAR during the fair’s opening ceremony. The agreement aims to strengthen trade relations and identify investment opportunities between Mozambique and Macao. It provides for the exchange of information on business opportunities, the organisation of business missions, and mutual support for participation in fairs and exhibitions.
