Guinean and Chinese ophthalmologists began an eye-care campaign last week at the Cacheu Regional Hospital, in Canchungo, in Guinea-Bissau.

According to the hospital's ophthalmologist, Domingos Indeque, the initiative covers children and adults with vision problems, including patients with cataracts. He urged patients and their families to support the campaign to ensure its success.

The doctor explained that each patient must present an identification document at the time of consultation, for their patient file to be completed.

For his part, the hospital's administrator, Luizinho da Costa Júnior, stated that the Chinese Government will provide the financial support, materials and medicines required for the campaign, as part of bilateral cooperation.
