Chinese Embassy in Angola hold reception to mark the 77th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the People’s Republic of China

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Angola held a formal reception last week to mark the he 77th Anniversary of the Proclamation of the People’s Republic of China.

 

The event was attended by around 400 guests, including the Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Zhang Bin, the Vice-President of the MPLA, Mara Quiosa; the Prosecutor-General of the Republic, Pedro Mendes de Carvalho; the Second Vice-President of the National Assembly, Arlete Leona Chimbinda; The Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Isaac Francisco Maria dos Anjos, the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Custódio Vieira Lopes; as well as other figures from various sectors of Angolan society, members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Angola, and representatives of Chinese Organisations and the Chinese Community resident in the country.

 

In this address Ambassador Zhang Bin outlined the main achievements of China’s modernization drive, as well as the fundamental aims and principles of China’s four global Initiatives. He also underlined China’s readiness to work alongside Angola, consolidate cooperation consensus, broaden development opportunities, and build ever closer China-Angola and China-Africa communities with a shared future.

 

During the reception, a robot dance demonstration was presented, followed by a performance form a local orchestra, which played a selection of classical Chinese and Angolan pieces, the atmosphere was one of friendship, warm and enthusiasm.
