Forum Macao sets up promotional ‘Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion’ in Zhaoqing

A delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) visited Guangdong Province between November 29 and 30 to take part in the “Dynamic Macao Week” activities in Zhaoqing Prefecture. The programme included setting up a “Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion”.


The visit aimed to: support the SAR Government’s efforts in promoting Macao; deepen economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Guangdong, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries; boost awareness of Forum Macao’s work; and promote the respective business and investment environments of the Portuguese-speaking Countries.


During the trip to Zhaoqing, the Permanent Secretariat delegation promoted the social, economic and investment environments of each of the eight Portuguese-speaking Countries, namely Angola, Brazil, Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Principe, and Timor-Leste. Forum Macao set up a Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion at Zhaoqing’s Paifang Square, featuring product displays, photographs, descriptive texts and videos. One of the goals of the pavilion was to promote the work of Forum Macao and Macao’s role as a service platform.

The Pavilion received great attention from local enterprises and residents.


During its visit, the Forum Macao delegation attended the Opening Ceremony of the Dynamic Macao Week in Zhaoqing, and toured the facilities of two local enterprises –VIPSHOP (Zhaoqing) E-Business Co, Ltd and Fenghua Electronic Engineering Development Co, Ltd.
