The Secretary-General of Forum Macao, Ms Xu Yingzhen, met on October 16 with a delegation from Portuguese news agency Agência Lusa. The visiting party was headed by Mr Nicolau Santos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Agência Lusa.

The meeting – which took place at the headquarters of Forum Macao – was also attended by Deputy Secretary-General Mr Rodrigo Brum and Portugal’s Representative in Forum Macao, Ms Maria João Bonifácio.

Ms Xu welcomed Mr Santos and his delegation, and made a brief presentation about Forum Macao. Both sides then exchanged views on their respective work and strategies.

Mr Santos said Agência Lusa planned to increase its news coverage of Portuguese-speaking Countries, namely by widening its correspondent network in those places. The news agency also had plans to step up news video production, and also to make better use of Forum Macao and Macao’s role as a cooperation platform in order to implement new projects.

Other Agência Lusa representatives attending the meeting included: Business and Marketing Director, Ms Mónica Garcia; Assistant News Director Ms Margarida Pinto; News Editor for the Portuguese-speaking Countries Section, Mr Paulo Agostinho; and Macao Bureau Head, Ms Elsa Jacinto.
