On November 3, a delegation led by Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Qingdao, Geng Tao, paid a visit to the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Ji Xianzheng, and members of the Secretariat received the delegation.

Secretary-General Ji warmly welcomed Vice Mayor Geng and his delegation and briefly introduced Forum Macao and the work of its Secretariat in promoting trade, investment, co-operation in human resources, cultural exchange, and other sectors. He then expressed his willingness to further strengthen exchanges and co-operation in the marine economy and production capacity with Qingdao and foster co-operation in those fields between Qingdao and Portuguese-speaking Countries by utilizing the multilateral mechanism of Forum Macao.

Vice Mayor Geng introduced relevant situations of Qingdao and expressed his wish to further bolster communication and exchange on the basis of friendly co-operation between both sides.

Representatives from both sides also had discussions on reinforcing economic and trade co-operation. After the meeting, the delegation participated in the Retrospective of the Establishment of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) - 20th Anniversary.

Participants included the Deputy-Secretaries General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Xie Ying (appointed by China), Paulo Jorge do Espírito Santo (appointed by the Portuguese-speaking Countries) and Casimiro de Jesus Pinto (appointed by the Macao SAR), Coordinator of the Executive Office, Li Xiaohui, Coordinator of the Liaison Office and Representative of São Tomé and Príncipe, Gika Simão, Representative of Angola, Agostinho João António dos Santos, Representative of Guinea-Bissau, Abdú Jaquité, Representative of Mozambique, Francisca Torcida Reino, Representative of Portugal, Márcia Cordeiro Guerreiro, Director of the Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee, Xiao Yanheng, Party Secretary of the CPC Shinan District Committee, Wang Feng and Deputy Party Secretary of CPC Pingdu City Committee, Pingdu City Mayor, Zhang Hongye, among others.
