Ms Panguene had acted – on a rotational basis – as the head of the “Seminar on Co-operation in Traditional Medicine between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries”.

This is the third seminar held by the Training Centre of Forum Macao this year. Between September 16 and 30, a total of 21 representatives and technicians from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe participated in the sessions in Macao, and visited Guangdong and Hengqin. The seminar was aimed at providing to all participants a platform for learning and exchange in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

During their stay in Macao, participants attended several thematic sessions and exchanges to deepen their knowledge about the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, Macao’s role as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and to learn more about the advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Participants had also the opportunity to attend the 2017 Traditional Medicine International Cooperation Forum. During the stay in Guangzhou and Hengqin, participants addressed several topics, namely: the sub-health condition; characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine; and assessment of the state of internal organs. Participants also held exchange sessions at different public services, entities and companies in mainland China.

The seminar helped participants gain a better understanding of the latest developments of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the cooperation between Macao and mainland China in this field. It also helped strengthen Macao’s role as a commercial and trade cooperation service platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries and to promote exchanges in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine between Guangdong Province, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
