A delegation from the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park, including the Industrial Park’s President, Ms Lu Hong, visited on March 7 the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).
The two sides discussed the framework of the Memorandum of Co-operation – signed last year – regarding the promotion of co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries in the area of traditional medicine. The two sides also discussed their support for Macao in its role as a Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
During the meeting, Ms Lu gave a presentation on the work done and results achieved by the Industrial Park last year. She also outlined the programme of activities for 2017, with a focus on those to be carried out in Portuguese-speaking Countries. Ms Lu said the Industrial Park would continue to support Forum Macao in its training activities.
The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat, Ms Xu Yingzhen, welcomed the delegation from the Industrial Park and gave a brief presentation on the work done by the Permanent Secretariat, as well as the activities planned for this year, with a special focus on promotion of trade and investment, co-operation in production capacity, collaboration in human resources training and the furthering of cultural exchanges.
Ms Xu also noted that the Permanent Secretariat had been promoting economic and trade exchanges and co-operation – in several areas – between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. The Permanent Secretariat is committed to continuing to provide support to the Industrial Park in its co-operation with the Portuguese-speaking world, particularly in the field of traditional medicine.
