A Delegation from the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao), also known as Forum Macao, will take part in the “Dynamic Macao Week” in Xiamen, Fujian, on September 7 to 9.

The Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao will install the “Portuguese-speaking Countries’ Pavilion” at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center. The Permanent Secretariat will also organise the “Seminar on Business Co-operation between Fujian, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries”, among other promotional and exchange activities.

The participation in the event is aimed at contributing to and supporting the promotional activities launched by the Macao SAR Government, by optimising the Forum Macao mechanism and the services platform for trade co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. The initiative is also aimed at promoting the investment and business environment of the member countries of Forum Macao, as a way to promote regional economic co-operation between Portuguese-speaking Countries and Mainland China.

Displays at the Pavilion include traditional products from Portuguese-speaking Countries, with accompanying written explanations, photographs and videos. The Pavilion also helps to promote the business and investment environments of the seven Portuguese-speaking member countries of Forum Macao, namely: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and East Timor.

The “Seminar on Business Co-operation between Fujian, Macao and Portuguese-speaking Countries” will be organised in collaboration with the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Department of Commerce of Fujian Province. The Seminar, open to businesspeople and media, will be held on September 8, at 2.30pm, at the Guanhai Room, on the 4th floor of Pavilion C, at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center.
