February 10, Mr. Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Regional Integration, Cabo Verde, visited the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao).

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr. Ji Xianzheng, welcomed Minister Soares and gave a brief introduction to the Permanent Secretariat and the work plan of Forum Macao in 2023. Minister Soares noted that the Government of Cabo Verde attaches great importance to Forum Macao and it will continue to strongly support the work of the Permanent Secretariat. It is hoped that through the multilateral mechanism of Forum Macao and Macao’s role as a platform, the cooperation between Cabo Verde, China and other participating countries of the Forum will be further strengthened in various fields.  Afterward, Mr. Ji Xianzheng accompanied Minister Soares to the Pavilion of China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Commercial and Trade Service Platform.

The meeting was also attended by: Deputy Secretary-General, Mr. Paulo Jorge do Espírito Santo; Coordinator of the Executive Office, Ms. Li Xiaohui; Coordinator of the Support Office, Ms. Teresa Mok; and Representative of Cabo Verde, Mr. Nuno Miguel Melo Furtado.
