The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, Mr Ji Xianzheng, paid a visit to the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in the Macao SAR, Mr Liu Xianfa, on January 13.

The Commissioner welcomed Mr Ji Xianzheng, who recently took up office as Secretary-General, and praised the role that Forum Macao has played since its foundation, in promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, and in the transformation of Macao into a Sino-Lusophone platform, as well as the results achieved so far. Furthermore, Mr Liu said the Office of the Commissioner remained steadfast in its support for the work of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao, in boosting cooperation and development between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Secretary General Mr Ji expressed his gratitude to the Commissioner and his Office, for the support they had given to the work of the Permanent Secretariat of Forum Macao. Mr Ji also pointed out that all parties involved in Forum Macao had high expectations regarding what Forum Macao could achieve and had given high priority to its work. He said that all parties would, via close coordination, continue to explore in depth, the advantages and potential of promoting cooperation and exchanges in a number of areas between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.
