The Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-Operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and the Centre for Portuguese Studies of Macao Polytechnic Institute are hosting a Contest for Promotional Videos on Portuguese-speaking Countries. The initiative is linked to the 13th Cultural Week of China and Portuguese-speaking Countries, to take place in October.

The contest seeks to promote, in China and elsewhere, the traditional culture, customs and history of Portuguese-speaking Counties. It also looks to support the development of Macao as a Training Centre for Chinese-Portuguese Bilingual Professionals, while making the most of Macao’s role as a cooperation platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

The video contest organisers are inviting entries from eligible parties, from March 30 until April 30, 2021. Each submission should feature a particular Portuguese-speaking Country.

The contest is open to teams of students enrolled in higher education institutions in either Mainland China, any Portuguese-speaking Country, or in Macao. The contest organisers will select entries from up to 24 teams. No more than three entries featuring an individual Portuguese-speaking Country will be selected by the organisers. They will then pick no more than one video per Portuguese-speaking Country in order to compile a top-eight shortlist. The shortlist entry that receives the most votes online among the final eight entries, will receive a special prize. All 24 shortlisted teams will receive a cash prize.

Those interested in registering a team should do so via http://videolp.ipm.edu.mo before April 30, 2021, providing a contact email as username. Entries should be uploaded either to the YouTube or Baidu NetDisk video online platforms, with the respective details submitted to the organisers before June 30, 2021.

The list of winning entries will be published on September 1, and an award ceremony will be held in October. For more information, please contact Ms. Cheang (telephone number: 8791 3361 / email: luisa@gfce.gov.mo) or Mrs. Rosa (telephone number: 8791 3316 / email: ivone@gfce.gov.mo) during office hours.
