The launch of the Portuguese edition of the book “Overcoming Poverty” was held on November 12 in Rio de Janeiro, accompanied by a seminar on governance between Brazil and China.
The event organizers highlighted that the book, written by President Xi Jinping, brings together reflections and proposals on poverty eradication, local governance and reformist development. The work brings with it fundamental concepts of Chinese modernization, with an emphasis on the principle of putting the people first, the search for innovation and reform, independence on the path of development and the commitment to mutual cooperation. The expectation is that the book can inspire new paths of collaboration between Brazil and China, especially in areas such as poverty eradication and sustainable development.
The Portuguese edition of “Overcoming Poverty” was translated and published in collaboration with Editora de Línguas Estrangeiras da China, Editora do Povo de Fujian and Brazilian publisher Contraponto. The book has previously been published in English, French, Spanish, etc.
