BYD exceeds 50,000 electrified vehicles sold in Brazil

According to data published on October 1 on the website of the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave), the Chinese manufacturer BYD has reached an important milestone in Brazil by surpassing 50,000 electrified vehicles sold. 


From January to September 2024, the Chinese manufacturer registered 51,174 units sold, consolidating its position as the leader in the electrified segment in Brazil. At the moment, BYD ranks among the top 10 car brands in the country and has a 73% share of the electric vehicle market.


In addition, the automaker will soon start producing cars in Brazil and the site is the former Ford factory in Camaçari, Bahia, which BYD has taken over. Construction began in March this year and it is the first time that this Chinese brand will have a factory outside Asia.
