A course to promote the learning of Mandarin, the official Chinese language, is being taught to workers on the construction project of the Caculo Cabaça Hydroelectric Plant, currently underway in the locality.

Held by the Chinese Language Club “Building Dreams on the Silk Road”, the course aims to introduce aspects of Chinese culture as a language learning tool, encouraging reflection and mutual understanding between Chinese and Angolan cultures based on intercultural dialogue.

The head of the Chinese Language Club, Guo Kai, highlighted the importance of diversifying workers' language skills to reduce communication barriers in the workplace. He said that the use of varied languages in the workplace makes it possible to build relationships, based on mutual understanding and trust in multicultural work environments.

To this end, he argued that companies should offer language training programs for employees who need to improve their language skills, through classes, workshops or even partnerships with specialized institutions.
