More than 120 entrepreneurs and business leaders from Mozambique, China and Macau participated on July 29, in Maputo, in the Macau-Hengqin Investment Promotion Seminar, marking a significant milestone in economic collaboration between the countries.

The event was organized by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone Economic Development Services Bureau in Hengqin (Island in the People's Republic of China) and the Investment Promotion Agency and Exports from Mozambique (APIEX Moçambique).

At the seminar, the economic and commercial advisor of the Chinese Embassy in Mozambique, Xu Weili, highlighted the importance of leveraging the “One Belt, One Road” initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for collaborative growth.

This is the first time that the “Macao Platform + International Resources + Hengqin Space + Shared Results” model has been promoted in Portuguese-speaking African countries since the implementation of the new Macau-Hengqin industrial development strategy.
