Unicamp's general coordinator, Maria Luiza Moretti, received on July 1 a delegation from the Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) interested in deepening relations between the two institutions. Discussions revolved around topics such as the exchange of teachers and students, the creation of double-degree programs and joint research centers and the exploration of new areas for scientific collaboration.

“We already have an agreement [signed] ten years ago [in 2013], and we are exploring new possibilities,” said BUCT president Tan Tianwei.

Moretti highlighted the growing interest of Chinese institutions in universities in Latin America. Since November last year, Unicamp has received five Chinese delegations, the result of an effort by the Executive Directorate of International Relations (Deri) and the Confucius Institute at Unicamp.
