Angola Telecom and Chinese multinational Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding on June 27 in Shanghai to allow the installation of two sites (towers), with a view to increasing the coverage of 2G, 3G and 4G communication services in the country.
The signing of the agreement, which took place on the sidelines of Angola's participation in the MWC24 Mobile World Congress, which is taking place from June 26 to 28 in Shanghai, was witnessed by Angola's Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira.
This reinforcement of the partnership with Huawei, as part of the national pilot project for sharing sites, called "Iluminar Angola Better Connection - ABC", has the essential aim, among others, of bringing 2G, 3G and 4G services to areas of Angolan territory that are difficult to access, as well as speeding up the process of digitalization of the Angolan economy.
