Chinese Ambassador to Cabo Verde Du Xiaocong has visited the Cabo Verde municipality of Boa Vista to discuss twinning Boa Vista with Rudong County in the eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu, the Chinese Embassy in Praia says.

The embassy issued a written statement saying Mr Du and Boa Vista Municipal Council President José Luís Santos discussed a twinning arrangement and ways for Boa Vista with Rudong County to cooperate.

A twinning arrangement may help Boa Vista and Rudong County to develop, and promote Sino-Cabo Verde co-operation and exchanges, the Chinese Embassy in Praia quotes the ambassador as saying.

The report says Mr Du visited hospitals, schools and other facilities in Boa Vista to find out how developed the municipality is.
