The University of Coimbra in Portugal says it has introduced a course on the economic aspects of the ties between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries.
An announcement posted on the University of Coimbra website says the course sets out to teach students what they need to know to pursue successful careers as go-betweens in the relationship between China and the Portuguese-speaking world.
The university says course is meant for people that are or aspire to be diplomats, journalists, lawyers or lawmakers, for Portuguese entrepreneurs and for Chinese businesspeople working in Portugal.
The course is taught in English.
It will give students a greater understanding of the institutional structures and the highly complex and changing trade and business environments in China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, and of the political, economic and cultural forces that shape modern-day China, the University of Coimbra says.
