The Chinese government has given Mozambique 100 new buses with a view to improving public transport there, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi as saying at the turnover of the buses that the vehicles are sophisticated but tough, and will make life easier for Mozambicans.
Mr Nyusi said more Chinese had been emboldened to invest in Mozambique now conditions for business there were improving.
The report quotes Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian as saying the gift is further evidence of the strength of the Sino-Mozambican friendship and partnership.
The Mozambican government intends to deploy 1,000 buses around the country in the next five years; it has deployed 80 percent so far, Xinhua says.
