BMI Research forecasts that the annual rate of inflation in Mozambique will slow to 5.9 percent this year from 15.4 percent last year, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency says the consulting firm forecasts that gross domestic product will grow by 3.6 percent this year.

The report quotes BMI Research as saying: “Mozambique’s economic growth will speed up this year due to a decline in inflation and a stable currency.”

BMI Research expects private consumption to grow by 4 percent this year, Lusa says.
