Representatives of China and Portugal believe each country should show more of the films and television programmes made in the other, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese state-run news agency says this belief is one outcome of a meeting in Lisbon to discuss how to co-operate more and increase exchanges in the field of films and television.
The report says the meeting suggested that greater exchanges of movies and soap operas could enhance Sino-Portuguese mutual understanding.
The meeting brought together government officials, representatives of film production companies and representatives of other institutions in the field of cinema.
