Official data indicate that the amount of soybean China imported from Brazil grew to 1.75 million tonnes in February, 154 percent more than a year earlier, Reuters reports.
The news agency, citing figures compiled by the Chinese General Administration of Customs, says the amount of soybean China imported from the United States shrank by 24.4 percent to 3.35 million tonnes.
The report says China usually obtains almost all the soybean it imports in February from the United States, but that competitive pricing has increased the proportion China imports from Brazil.
