The governments of six cities in the Brazilian state of São Paulo and three Chinese companies operating in Brazil put on a programme of events called China Day in São João da Boa Vista to promote Chinese culture, the China News Service reports.
The news agency says the events included a variety show, a visit to factory that makes business jets, visits to farms and a friendly football match.
The report quotes Chinese Consul-General in São Paulo Chen Peijie as saying China Day would give the people of São João da Boa Vista and the other five cities a greater understanding of China and its culture, so enhancing the friendship between Brazilians and Chinese.
China Day could raise Sino-Brazilian co-operation to new heights, the China News Service quotes São João da Boa Vista Mayor Borges de Carvalho as saying.
