Brazilian president to visit China

Brazilian President Michel Temer is due to begin on 1 September an official visit to China, where he will attend a Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRICs) meeting, O Estado de São Paulo reports.

Mr Temer will go first to Beijing and then travel to the southern Chinese city of Xiamen for the BRICs meeting, The Brazilian newspaper says.

Exame reports that while in China, the president is due to sign a Sino-Brazilian agreement on investment in railways.

The agreement will enable certain railway projects in Brazil to go ahead, the Brazilian magazine Exame says in its online edition.

China bought almost 25 percent of all Brazilian exports in the first half of this year.
